A Playlist For Your Little Couch Potato

At my house we’re constantly on the edge of being sucked into the vortex of screen time.

Yes, screen time is bad for little kids.

But if you are going to let them watch, a pretty good option is to pull up storybooks read aloud on YouTube.

Here are some of my favorites. Some are by the authors themselves, and others are just by fun storytellers.

The Book With No Pictures, by B.J. Novak

Giraffes Can’t Dances, by Giles Andreae

The Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything, by Linda Williams

I Really Like Slop, by Mo Willems

Oh the Places You’ll Go, by Dr. Seuss

Tyrannosaurus Funk by Sandra Boynton

The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle

Possum Magic, by Mem Fox

We’re Going On a Bear Hunt, by Michael Rosen

Clark the Shark, by Bruce Hale

Harry the Dirty Dog read by Betty White

Good idea is to set up your own playlist on YouTube so that these just play on a loop for your kids while you are doing something super important – like having a normal conversation over dinner at a restaurant.

Any more suggestions?
